Dear Parent/Guardians,
Another great school year is in progress. I wanted to let you know about a few of the school nurse services being provided this year.
Immunization Records have been reviewed in all the schools Kindergarten through grade 12 and letters notifying parents/guardians if any vaccines are missing have been sent.
The Kindergarten and 1st grade classes are doing the scrub club again this year. Grades 2 through 5 have participated in the Hand Washing Poster Contest. The top 3 posters from each class have been laminated and are posted in their schools. Please be sure to look for them when you visit your child’s school. There is some great art on display.
Hearing and vision screenings are being done for Kindergarten classes this month. Vision screenings for grades 1, 3 and 5 is also being started this month. Results should be sent to parents/guardians by Christmas break for most classes.
There is a new link on the ksd391.org web page called School Nurse Services. I have included information on free and low cost prescription drugs, Reye’s syndrome as well as a health and activities page for you to share with your children at home. My monthly schedule is also located on the web site.
Parents are welcome to contact me with questions by calling your child’s school or contacting me at Pinehurst Elementary at 682-2193.
