Happy Birthday Mrs. Hammeren
Just a reminder that no food should be eaten in the hallways--and this includes suckers!
Unless you have a book to read or school work to keep you busy, the Library will not be available during your lunch hour. You will have to have the book or work with you.
The 7th grade boys brought home some hardware after a long day at the Mullan Tourney. They started with a victory over the Wallace B team 27-11. Nine different players scored with Cole Barber and Jayce Davis bagging their first scores of the year. The next game they won 30-24 over Kootenai. Gus Colburn lead the way with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals, while Anthony Dehart added 10 points and 5 boards. In the championship game they squared off against St. Maries - the only team to have beaten them this year. It was a hard fought rough game that was back and forth until the final minutes when St. Maries pulled away for a 44-35 victory. Gus popped in 20 points by going 8-12 from the free throw line and hitting two 3-point shots. Anthony added 11 points in the paint. Tony Kitchen and Heath Waechter added two points and four steals each to the effort. Dustin, Ted, Sam and Jasen all contributed to a strong team defensive effort. For the tourney Gus had 36 points, 12 rebounds and 12 steals, Anthony had 25 points, 13 boards and 5 steals, Heath had 8 points and 12 boards, and Tony had 11 rebounds and 8 steals.
The girls and boys B-Teams were in action this weekend in Mullan at the 7th grade tourney. Both teams played well and are improving with every game. They both showed great team pride and sportsmanship. Great Job Guys and Gals!
The girls won their first game easily against the Wallace A team but lost their second game to a very scrappy Mullan squad. The girl scorers for the day were Sami Woody – 10, Katie Madsen – 11, Jordan Browning – 10, Jazmin Sauer – 7, and Shay Kosanke – 2.
The boys started off with the Wallace A-Team and played an inspired second half after falling behind by 15 to close in on the Miners within 4. They could not quite finish off the pesky Miners. They then took on an equally scrappy Mullan squad in the second game and once again started slow but finished strong with another furious comeback. The boys were down 14 points during the second half and came back to lose by only 5 points. The boys total points for both games were Eugene Nelson – 7, Joe Bussell – 2, Roger Lunsford – 11, Devin Kolton – 12, Nick Gibson – 2, Scott Stevenson – 8, Curtis Briggs – 2, Michael Hyndman – 2, & Steven Johnson – 2.
Great job to all of you, I was proud to have both teams there. Both teams will be in action on Wednesday against Wallace with the girls taking the floor at 4 PM. Come cheer us on; we will make it worthwhile. Coach Hadley
