Parent Teacher Conferences/Stone Soup
It seems like we just started the school year and it is already time for the fall conferences. The research shows the more parents are involved in their child's education, the better they do in school. Conferences are set up to show the parents where their child is academically as well as socially. Mrs. Harding will be calling some of you to schedule specific conference times; some of you will receive a letter in the mail inviting you to attend the night conference. If you do not receive a letter of a call, please drop in during one of the drop in times. Here are the following conference times at KMS:
- November 4: 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the KMS Gym (Drop In)
- November 5: 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, reserved for scheduled conferences
- November 5: 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the KMS Gym (Drop In)
- We will be serving stone soup and rolls to parents and students who come to the night conferences on Wednesday night. We are asking students to bring in a can of vegetables to add to the soup by October 29. If we have too many cans for the soup, the extra cans will be donated to the local food bank. Come to KMS conferences and have a bowl of soup and a roll, then meet with your child's teachers.
Thanksgiving Break
Happy Thanksgiving! On Wednesday, November 25, we will have an early release day so families can get an early start for the holiday. The students will be released at 1:05 PM on Wednesday. There will be no school on Thursday, November 26, and Friday, November 27. School will resume on Monday, November 30. Enjoy the break with family and friends.
Veterans Day Assembly
The KMS Veterans Day Assembly will be on Wednesday, November 11, at 8:45 AM in the KMS gym. This in one of the most important assemblies of the year, where we can honor the past veterans. KMS would like to extend an invitation to all veterans living in the Silver Valley to attend the assembly. We will have performances by the KMS band and choir.
