Parent Teacher Conferences
Time sure flies by quickly; it is hard to believe we are already done with the first quarter of teh school year. The research shows the more parents are involved in their child's education the better they do in school. Therefore, we have conferences set up to show teh parents where their child is academically as well as sociall. Mrs. Harding will be calling some of you to schedule specific conference times; some of you will receive a letter in the mail inviting you to attend the night conference. If you do not receive a letter of call, please stop in during one of the drop in times. Here are the following conference times at KMS:
- November 5: 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the KMS Gym (Drop In)
- November 6: 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, reserved for scheduled conferences
- November 6: 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the KMS Gym (Drop In)
Thanksgiving Break
Happy Thanksgiving! On Wednesday, November 26, we will have an early release day so families can get an early start for the holiday. The students will be released at 1:05 PM on Wednesday. There will be no school on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28. School will resume on Monday, December 1. Enjoy the break with family and friends.
Veterans Day Assembly
The KMS Veterans Day Assembly will be on Tuesday, November 11, at 8:45 AM in the KMS gym. This in one of the most important assemblies of the year, where we can honor the past veterans. KMS would like to extend an invitation to all veterans living in the Silver Valley to attend the assembly. We will have performances by the KMS band and choir.
Idaho Substance Use and School Climate Survey
Once every two years the state of Idaho asks the school to administer a survey to the students. The survey is completely anonymous; they do not even put their names on the survey. The surveys go into a sealed envelope, so no one, not even the teacher, will see it.
Participation in the survey is voluntary and students may decline to participate in the survey when it is given. If they do participate, the are allowed to skip questions they find objectionable. The survey results will be presented in the same manner as public opinion polls; they will show group averages not individual answers. The survey will give the state information they need to plan for intervention programs to combat the problems faced by our youth.
