8th Grade Parent Meeting
The first 8th grade parent meeting was on Tuesday, January 12th. It was well attended, and many things were discussed for the end of the year activities for the 8th grade students. Mrs. Roberts volunteered her services as chairperson for the group. She can be contacted at KMS/KHS if you have any questions. The next meeting is set up for Tuesday, February 2, at 6:30 in the KMS library. Please plan on attending the meeting to help with end of the year activities for the 8th grade students. Thank you to all who attended the meeting in January; your help is very much appreciated.
Basketball in Full Swing
Basketball season is in full swing at KMS. Please come out and support the students on all of the teams. We encourage you to cheer on the teams, while letting the coaches’ coach, the players play, and the referees officiate the games. You can pick up a schedule in the KMS office, or look on the KMS website to see when the home games, as well as away games are scheduled. Thanks for supporting the kids at KMS.
Staying Active During the Winter Months
It is important for all of us to try and stay as active as we can during the winter months. Too much time inside can cause the winter blahs to set in (cabin fever). When weather permits, we have the students go outside for recess so please make sure your student is coming prepared to go outside during the winter months (which include appropriate shoes, no slippers at KMS). There are days when the weather does not permit us to go outside and we have the students go into the gym on those days. All other days the students are expected to go outside during recess.
Skyward Student Information System
Many of you have already taken advantage of our new student information system, which allows you to access your child’s grades and work for each class. This is a good tool for you to use to keep informed as to how your child is doing in each of their classes. Even if you don’t have a computer at home, you can still utilize this program from computers at the public library, or anywhere you can access a computer that has internet capability. You just need to come into KMS and Mrs. Absec will give you a password to access your child’s information. You can also contact the teachers at anytime to talk about how your child is doing in class.
