BECOMING A HUNTER

Many people enjoy being in the wilderness
or going for a good hunt. They say
that being in the wilderness can help you relax or
get the time to be with friends or family.
If you are out hunting here are some of the things
you might need:

  • a pack
  • an orange coat
  • a flashlight
  • a knife
  • fire starter
  • an orange hat
  • a hatchet
  • gloves
  • extra clothes
  • your weapon
  • binoculars
  • ammunition
  • waterproof boots
  • meat bags
  • licence and tags
  • a saw
  • rain coat
  • a space blanket
  • some rope
  • a first-aid kit

I've found that many people that do hunt like to
find a good spot to camp and stay there for years.
Some people get to be a professional hunter and hunt
for a tv show but it is still alot of fun to be in nature.

There are many different animals and ways to hunt them.
You can archery hunt, rifle hunt, or musseloader hunt.

Archery and musseloader are considered close range weapons
so they have their own season. In close range hunting you
have to be silent. Some hunters use some kind of scent lock
to keep the animals from smelling them before they can even get a shot.
I think that archery is harder because I am used to long range
    hunting.

Rifles have their own season because it can
be way different hunting from longer range.
This kind of hunting is an easier way to hunt
because you don't always have to be super quiet
or wear scent lock. Many rifles actually are cheaper
to hunt with because the price of bullets is lower
    than arrows.

An elk is one of the popular animals to hunt
in because they fill up the freezer.I got an elk this year
that was only a yearling and it still weighed 273 pounds.
We had to buy a bigger freezer to fit it in.
