Kellogg High School Update - 4/16/2010

"To speak without thinking is to shoot without aiming." ~Spanish Proverb

Faculty Meeting

We will hold a faculty meeting Tuesday, April 20th, 7:35am to discuss upcoming levy. Please plan to attend.

Upcoming Levy

The KSD Supplemental Replacement Levy vote is on Tuesday, April 27, 2010. There will be a special board meeting to consider a district declaration of financial emergency and to collect input and solution on the board approved cut to the 2010/2011 budget. Please remind everyone to vote and encourage all you know to get out and vote! Staff members who would like to help with the levy committee are encouraged to contact Steve Shepperd.

Kudos

Special acknowledgement to the KHS Choir and Band for their 1st place awards at the Heritage Festival in Seattle. Let those students know what a great job they did.

To the 9th grade students and teachers: the majority of the 9th grade students have completed the reading and math ISAT and score respectively 72% and 66% in proficiency on the 10th grade level ISAT. Way to go; let's celebrate our successes.

ISATs Happening

KHS has begun taking the ISAT. The first week is drawing to a close and the 9th grade class did extremely well on the 10th grade Reading ISAT. This is something to celebrate. Please continue to remind students to get plenty of rest, eat breakfast and lunch, take the test seriously and take their time. Both the 9th and 10th grades are testing this spring.
