Career Day is scheduled for Tuesday morning, March 16. This will be a dress up day for all students. If students do not have a regular first period class, or are a first hour aide, they are asked to report to Mr. Roberts in Room 301 first period to receive instructions for the day and their Career Day schedule.
Tobacco Free Teens meet during 3rd period today.
Students: The cafeteria has been left after morning break a big mess for the last week. Students will be held accountable for clearing up their table before leaving for class. Help remind those that you are sitting with to clean up their space.
Seniors: Panhandle State Bank is offering a $500 scholarship to those with a minimum 2.5 GPA and a record of good standing in school and community. Must write a 500 word or less essay or design an advertising campaign. See counseling center for details. April 15 deadline.
Seniors: The Senior Bulletin is updated every Friday and posted in the counseling office, in front of the main office and on our website. Please take advantage of this resource & apply for scholarships today.
It’s that time again for BPA’s annual spring blood drive. It will be held March 18th and we need our roster to be filled so prepare to get ready to sign up and note that this year everyone has to sign up whether you have done so in the past. And as always first come first served! GET READY TO SAVE SOME LIVES!
The Silver Valley Republican Women’s Scholarship is available to graduating seniors planning to attend a college or tech school. Applications can be found on the KHS website as well as the counseling center. Deadline: April 26, 2010.
There will be an IDFY meeting on Wed., March 17th, during lunch in room 204.
It is against District Policy to have an electronic device in class or in the hall until 3:15. It does not make any difference if it is off or on vibrate. It is against policy to HAVE the electronic device in school. Keep it in your car, locker or do not bring it to school. If seen with cell phone in class, it is three days in-school suspension.
Juniors/Seniors: The Ayn Rand Essay contest of $10,000 is available with the reading of The Fountainhead. Rules and guidelines on-line at www.aynrandeducation.com April 26 deadline.
Attn: Juniors The Idaho High School Activities Association Interscholastic Star scholarship program recognizes & rewards outstanding students who participate in IHSAA sports & activities. Applicants must be JUNIORS who are nominated by the school principal. Five $1,000 scholarships are awarded each year. Applications can be downloaded from the IHSAA website, idhsaa.org & in the counseling office. Application Deadline April 1, 2010.
The Knights of Pythias Dutch Eilts Memorial Scholarship is available to a graduating senior who wish to further their educational pursuits at a college, university, business, or vocational training facility. Min. 2.0 GPA required. Applications can be found at the counseling office. Deadline: April 15, 2010.
