Seniors: A representative from Pacific University, out of Forest Grove, Oregon, will be here on Monday, October 13. Sign-up at the counseling center if you are interested in information about their school.
Wednesday during channel one there will be a class meeting for Juniors in the cafeteria, a class meeting for Sophomores in the gymnasium, and a class meeting for Freshman in the auxillary gym.
Juniors: The PSAT test will be given next Wednesday, Oct 15, periods 1 – 4. Cost is $13, fee waivers are available for those on free/reduced hot lunch. The PSAT is an excellent practice test for the SAT college entrance exam. It also qualifies you for the National Merit Scholarship Contest. Sign-up/pay at the counseling center. 30 tests available, first come, first served.
The following is the ISAT schedule for this week:
Tuesday, Oct. 7th, 1st hr: Group 4 – Reading, 3rd hr: Group 1 – Math, and 5th hr: Group 2 – Math.
Wednesday, Oct. 8th, 1st hr: Group 3 – Math, 3rd hr: Group 4 – Math, and 5th hr: Group 1 – Language.
Thursday, Oct. 9th, 1st hr: Group 2 – Language, 3rd hr: Group 3 – Language, and 5th hr: Group 4 – Language.
The Jr Red Cross will meet Sunday 10/12 from 2-3 at the Pizza Factory in Wallace. New and returning volunteers are always welcome.

The Jr Red Cross will meet Thursday Oct 9, 2008 during lunch in Mrs. Chavez’s Room.
The Voice of Democracy contest, sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, is available to all students, grades 9 – 12. The 3 – 5 minute oral essay must focus on the theme, “Service and Sacrifice by America’s Veterans Benefit Today’s Youth by” National Awards of $148,000 with a top award of $30,000. Applications and information at counseling center or on-line at www.vfw.org – VFW Program Guide. Deadline November 1.
A REMINDER TO STUDENTS: If you do not attend school or you miss 2/3 of the school day, you are not eligible to participate in after school activities or events. This includes attending ball games, concerts, or plays.
Cats Who Care Members:
Our annual refresher training “mini-retreat” is Thursday, October 9, periods 1 – 4. Bus will be departing approximately 8:20. Breakfast/Lunch will be provided. It is important that you attend! See your morning teachers beforehand and get your assignments. You will return for your afternoon classes.
